Farm Christmas Fair – 9th December 2017
This Christmas Fair is going to be the biggest and best ever!
We’ve been busy planning, organising and preparing and are excited to tell you all about this year’s annual Farm Christmas Fair. The event will run from 11am-4pm on Saturday 9th December. Entry to the Farm will be free as usual but we’ll be charging for our activities to raise much needed unrestricted income to keep the Farm running all year round.
Our farmyard is set to be transformed with local craft stalls selling all sorts of Christmas gift ideas. The ever popular Peach Brandy sold by the local Church stall will be in attendance. Get there early!
Warm up in our river room and get creative making your own Christmas wreath.
The bar will be serving mulled wine and warm spiced apple juice and we’ll have home-made soup on sale.
Christmas Tree Sale
Our real Christmas Tree sale will be back by extremely popular demand. We have three sizes on sale to fit all budgets (and bus rides home!). Based on our sellout year last year we suggest you arrive at 11am to avoid disappointment. For more information about our trees click here.
Father Christmas will be back this year taking orders from excited kids. His elves have promised to keep him supplied with mince pies and ensure every child gets a present. Thanks to Oliver Jaques who are helping the elves with their present shopping! (£4 per child).
Support the Farm by buying a strip of raffle tickets on sale in the Farm Shop from Saturday 18th November (£1 per strip). Winners will be drawn at 4pm at the Fair. Huge thanks to the organisations who have given these fantastic raffle prizes:
Signed Millwall Football Shirt;
Turkey (2.5kg) from Bell & Sons butcher;
Gel polish manicure from Blue Mango Salon;
Decluttering session with Katherine Blacker from Sort My Space;
Pizza and glass of wine/beer for two at The Yellow House;
Sainsbury’s gift card;
Massage voucher from Body Tonic;
Plough Way Cafe voucher
You could also win a Surrey Docks Farm Donkey Adoption Pack in the raffle and get the chance to give Alice the donkey a groom and long walk around the local area!
Our Plot to Shop group will be running fair games such as Hook the (tinsel-clad) Duck and Hoop the Reindeer (a staff member in a onesie, not a real reindeer!). We’ll also have a wonderfully talented facepainter in the plant room!
The whole Farm will be open as usual so you can wonder around and say hello to all our animals and purchase bags of feed from the shop to feed the goats, sheep, pigs and poultry.
In addition our livestock team will be creating a special area where you can go in with our smaller animals – including rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, turkeys, chickens etc – for cuddles and strokes! (£1 entry).
We’ll also be offering donkey rides on the lovely Alice and Hermione along the Thames (£2 a ride for under 8’s).
