The Moo Crew is a project tailored to adults with learning disabilities who want to work with animals, experience farming in the city and be involved in the working life of the farm. Students learn transferrable skills in animal husbandry, feeding, animal care, grooming, incubation, birthing, mucking out, farm maintenance and general farm DIY.
The Moo Crew runs every Monday during established farm term time over a period of 40 weeks a year. There is an initial 4-week trial period for a student to decide if they would like a place and for the trainer to decide if a place can be offered.
We aim to provide training for students with a wide range of support needs. The Moo Crew will have one full time trainer and one specifically recruited support volunteer. A maximum of four people will be able to attend the project each day.
Places on The Moo Crew project are funded through individual personal budgets.
If you are interested in The Moo Crew project or know somebody who would like to participate please fill out the form below. We are actively looking for adults with learning disabilities to join our exciting new project on Mondays. Hugh, our project coordinator will get back to you as soon as possible.
Please note Moo Crew is now full. We are however running a waiting list so please get in touch.
