It’s our Spring Fair on Saturday 12th May. Join us from 11am to 4pm for an extra special day on the Farm.
Please note: entry is free, but you’ll need to bring cash to take part in activities, or purchase items from our stalls and food stations. The shop and cafe can take card payments if you get stuck, but we aren’t able to give cash back.
The Spring Fair highlights include the chance to watch sheep shearing demonstrations throughout the day. Head over to the sheep pen to see our sheep get their annual hair cut! You’ll then be able to see how the wool is spun, thanks to demonstrations from talented spinners from the London Guild of Spinners Weavers & Dyers.
Enter for free through our Rotherhithe Street gates and you’ll find home made bread being baked in our wood oven – on sale straight from the oven garnished with wild garlic foraged from the Farm site. Opposite the oven, you’ll find the Rotherhithe Men in Sheds team who will set up their tools to teach your children basic carpentry skills and wood work.
You’ll then wander towards our Farm Produce, Cake Stall and Plant Stall. Make sure you bring some cash to sample the cakes, take home some farm-made jams and get ready to fill your garden with our vegetable modules and bedding plants. All funds raised here will go straight to supporting our projects for adult students with learning disabilities.
Head into our small field for £1 and our knowledgeable volunteers will be on hand to help you cuddle our rabbits, stroke a guinea pig and tickle a ferrets tummy! We’ll also have our friendly funky turkeys roaming around and our cheeky little bottle-fed lambs to say hello to.
If you can tear yourself away from the lambs, make sure you check out our transformed donkey field. You can chill out on a straw bale, whilst sipping a drink from our bar and sampling a Bell & Sons burger from the BBQ! We’ll also have a range of activities to keep the children occupied including face-painting, bouncy castle and pottery crafts.
Thanks to the generosity of local organisations we have some wonderful raffle prizes up for grabs. We’re selling one strip of tickets for £1 and will draw the raffle at 4pm. Make sure you don’t miss out on the following prizes:
Surrey Docks Farm – Adopt a Donkey Gift Pack
Plough Way Cafe – £100 voucher for lunch or dinner
Signed Millwall Football
Bell & Sons – £15 Voucher
Odeon Cinema – 2x Guest Passes
Blue Mango Salon – Gel Polish Manicure Voucher and Brow Combo Voucher
Express Fish Bar – Fish & Chips Voucher
Love2Laundry – £20 Voucher
Body Tonic – £50 Vouchers x2

If it’s time for another animal fix, buy some animal feed from the farm shop and head into our goat yard. The goats will be shut into a smaller area but you can still feed the adults and make sure you leave plenty of time to watch the very cute goat kids leaping about! Around the edge of the yard will be a range of craft stalls – perfect gift ideas, or a present for yourself!
Finally head to the river to relax with a view, or if you’re under 8, enjoy a ride on our donkeys!
