Surrey Docks Farm has been closed since March following government advice to limit the spread of Coronavirus. Scroll down to find out how we have adapted our services to stay connected and provide food for our community.
We are pleased to be welcoming back most of our project participants in August, with new adapted ways of delivering practical outdoor activities. However, the Farm will remain closed to visitors until September. Though we’re now legally able to open to visitors, to do so requires a complete re-thinking of the site and controlled access via booked free slots. We sadly just don’t have the capacity to manage this until we can safely and financially afford to bring all staff back from furlough. Please read a full statement here.
We are still facing huge financial pressures, having lost over £100,000 this year through lack of room hire, mobile farm bookings, school visits, cafe rent, corporate volunteers, seasonal events, and so on. We would be incredibly grateful if you’re able to keep supporting us with any donations to help with the costs of animal care during this period.
We are following government public health advice to limit the spread of coronavirus. Find out what this means for you as a volunteer, work experience student, young farmer, student, visitor, or if you’ve booked a room etc.
We’re selling farm-reared meat and eggs. Payments must be made in advance online and collection will be from the Rotherhithe Street entrance at the agreed time only.
We want to support our local food growers and are selling bagged up manure, compost and fruit/veg plants. Payment must be made in advance online and collection times stuck to in order to minimise any contact.
Despite paying nearly £20,000 to UK Power Network in January we are still awaiting works to start on an essential electric upgrade. Until this happens we can’t plan for a cafe re-opening. Click the button below to read the full story!
Adopt a Donkey
Did you know you can adopt our donkeys? Adoption includes an hour groom and walk session with your chosen animal. A great gift idea!
Wildlife on the Farm
We garden for wildlife and encourage nature on our site, as a result the Farm is teaming with invertebrates, amphibians, birds and a regular fox visitor!
