Corporate volunteering at Surrey Docks Farm
We deliver fun, active and engaging corporate volunteer days here on the Farm. We encourage volunteers to get stuck in, cleaning out the goats, mucking out the sheep and generally getting their hands dirty! In the afternoon we get involved with more gardening focused tasks such as hedge trimming, installing raised beds, creating dead hedges, clearing overgrown areas etc. Preferably something where we have a clear result at the end of the day.
As a charity we do charge for these days. We rely on corporate volunteering not only to help with maintenance tasks but also as a crucial unrestricted fundraising stream.
Our standard charges are as follows:
Groups 7-15 people: £55/head plus a set rate of £150 to cover staff supervision on the day and admin costs beforehand.
Groups 2-6 people: Set £500 per day
The fees include all materials, equipment and PPE needed for the day, as well as access to basic tea/coffee facilities and your own dedicated lockable room.
We usually host up to 15 people per day. In some cases we can welcome more than 15 people on one day, but there may need to be an additional supervision charge so we can engage two staff members in order to offer you a safe and fun experience!

Corporate Volunteer Day Timetable
Volunteer days follow a rough timetable as follows:
10am-11am |
Meet at the Farm where tea/coffee is provided, followed by a tour of the Farm to learn more about our community projects and meet the animals. |
11am-1pm
|
Kick off with some animal care tasks e.g. sweeping the goat yard or mucking out the sheep and cows. Following mucking out we’ll give you some animal food to go round and feed our farm animals and get that perfect goat selfie! |
1pm-2pm |
Lunch Break |
2pm-3:30pm |
Afternoon horticulture tasks e.g. weeding and hedge maintenance (with the trimmings going to our greedy goats), building raised beds, etc. |
3:30pm-4pm |
Clear up, debrief and time for any final group photos before heading home! |
We take health and safety very seriously. We’ll provide you with a detailed risk assessment to share with your team in advance, including covering what to wear and what PPE we will provide. Your supervisor will also give a clear health and safety brief before each task.
