Feed The Calves 2021

£10.00

We welcomed two young calves to the Farm on 11th June. The calves have settled in well and are being bottle-fed by the livestock team, but we’re now delighted to be giving you a chance to help feed them!

We feed the calves every day at 16:40pm. If you would like to join in this happy feeding frenzy please book your slot below. We’re charging £10 per bottle as this activity forms part of our fundraising efforts, to contribute to the substantial livestock running costs. The Farm site is open and free to visit from 1:30pm-4:30pm on weekdays, so you’re welcome to come earlier to visit the rest of our animals.

Please note, feeding the calves is for adults and children over 8 years accompanied by a parent/guardian.

We deliberately only offer the chance to book up to a week in advance as the calves are so little and sometimes the public feeding can be a bit too exciting for them, so they need a couple of days break from their adoring public!

Calf feeding is really popular and slots sell out quickly. We add new slots every Wednesday morning for the following week, so do check back on Wednesdays for the best chance of getting a slot. Please note we have a tiny staff team with no admin support so we’re not able to reserve slots in advance or keep a waiting list, please just check back here the following Wednesday if it’s showing as sold out. Don’t worry if you’ve missed out, we’ll release more dates and the calves will need bottle-feeding for many weeks!

We charge £10 per bottle and have two calves to feed at the same time. One person can have a bottle to themselves, a couple/family can purchase two bottles and have the experience to themselves, or a small group can share one bottle.

The Farm remains free to visit and is open on weekday afternoons (we are struggling with staff shortages, but do hope to open more in future). We charge for the calf feeding sessions as a way to bring in essential income to help contribute to the animal costs. Our feed and bedding bills are approx £24,000 per year and that doesn’t include livestock staff, any vet bills, rent etc! Thank you to everyone who helps us continue to support our community – with free entry and free community projects – by purchasing our experience sessions.
