Spring Fair

It’s our Spring Fair on Saturday 13th May 2023. Join us from 11am to 4pm for an extra special day on the Farm.

Please note: entry is free, but this is a fundraising day for us and you’ll need to pay (by cash or card) to take part in activities, or purchase items from our stalls and food stations.

The Spring Fair highlights include the chance to watch sheep shearing demonstrations throughout the day. Head to the yard to watch our sheep get their annual hair cut! You’ll then be able to see how the wool is spun, thanks to demonstrations from talented spinners from the London Guild of Spinners Weavers & Dyers.

Enter for free through our Rotherhithe Street gates or via the Thames path and you’ll find home made bread being baked in our wood oven – on sale warm from the oven garnished with wild garlic foraged from the Farm site.

You’ll then wander towards our Farm Produce, Cake Stall and Plant Stall. Make sure you bring some cash to sample the cakes, take home some farm-made jams and get ready to fill your garden or window sill with our wide variety of tomato plants. We’ll also have a few local craft stalls here – perfect for gift ideas, or a present for yourself!

Head into our animal petting area for £2 per person and our knowledgeable volunteers will be on hand to help you cuddle our rabbits, stroke a guinea pig and meet the bottle-fed lambs up close!

If you can tear yourself away from the lambs, make sure you check out our transformed donkey field. You can chill out on a straw bale, whilst sipping a drink from our bar and munching on a burger from the BBQ! We’ll also have a range of activities to keep the children occupied including face-painting and fair games.

Thanks to the generosity of local organisations we have some wonderful raffle prizes up for grabs. We’re selling one strip of tickets for £2 and will draw the raffle at 4pm. (If you’re a winner but have already headed home, don’t worry we’ll phone the winners on the Monday after the Fair).

If it’s time for another animal fix, buy some animal feed from the farm shop and head into our goat yard. The goats will be in a slightly smaller area but you can still feed the adults and make sure you leave plenty of time to watch the very cute goat kids leaping about!
